Teacher Lisa Davis Charged with Child Molestation

Lisa Davis, 48-year-old former fifth-grade teacher at Scootney Springs Elementary School, Othello, Washington, accused of inappropriate behavior with a 10-year-old male student, has been charged with one count of first degree child molestation.

Davis, a married mother of three, resigned from her position at Scootney Springs Elementary School in Othello, after police carried out a short investigation. The investigation began when complaints were reported to police that she sexually molested one of her students. Officers said that another teacher alerted school administrators Davis was acting inappropriately with her student, a 10-year-old boy in her reading class. Davis, who is over 4 times older than her alleged victim, spent a lot of time together with him and spoke frequently on the phone, according to court documents. Davis also took the boy to a movie according to investigators. She admitted to kissing the student several times times and inappropriately touching him two or three times. The student confirmed the incidents happened both on and off campus.

Davis has been a teacher for more than 14 years. Last year she was named as teacher of the month by the local newspaper the Othello Outlook.

Lisa Davis is not the first female teacher from Washington to get in trouble with law for her alleged sexual acts with student. Earlier this year Courtney Keller, 28-year-old teacher’s aide at Black Hills High School, Tumwater, Washington, was arrested a for having an inappropriate sexual relationship with a Black Hills High student for nearly two years.
